Citizens Bank Park Joins the Plant-Based Rebellyion

First Plant-Based Restaurant Rolls Out Pesto Parm Plant-Based Chicken Panini to over 42,000 Baseball Fans

April 5, 2023 – Just in time for opening day, Citizens Bank Park is launching its first-ever plant-based concession stand with New Jersey-based Greens and Grains restaurant. Located in section 125 behind home plate, the restaurant will feature plant-based pesto parm paninis with Rebellyous Foods plant-based chicken, ballpark vegan hot dogs, and gyro pitas. The buttery and cheesy panini is topped with a crispy, juicy Rebellyous patty, house-made marinara and cashew pesto.

"It's the first plant-based restaurant to take residency at a Philadelphia sports venue," says Jared Kane, director of development, at Greens and Grains. "We know we can make more plant-based fans with tasty proteins like Rebellyous Plant-Based Chicken.”

“We’re thrilled to be a part of the first plant-based restaurant at Citizens Bank Park,” said Kristie Middleton, VP Business Development for Rebellyous Foods. “With more athletes and fans choosing to eat plant-based foods, it simply makes sense for sporting venues to step up their game to provide culinary-driven plant-based game day favorites. Kudos to Greens and Grains and Citizens Bank Park for paving the way.”

The 100% vegan Rebellyous Foods plant-based chicken patties are made with no cholesterol, antibiotics, or hormones, and have less saturated fat and sodium than chicken patties. Plant-based alternatives are on the rise outside of ballparks as well. Datassentials
reports that 40% of consumers are planning to purchase plant-based products in 2023.
